Get Tested

The CDC recommends getting tested every 3 to 6 months. At the Village, we provide a variety of STI testing for syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, as well as rapid and viral load testing for HIV, and rapid COVID-19 testing at no cost. We also can provide Linkage to Care for clients living with HIV, STI treatment, PrEP and PEP. Serving our primarily Black and LGBTQA+ community, we understand how important breaking down barriers between care can be.

Share Safely

If you have been diagnosed with HIV or a sexually transmitted infection (STI) and would like to ask any sex or needle-sharing partners to get tested, OR if you know someone who you think was exposed to HIV or an STI, we can help you tell them anonymously. We will send them a personal message which does not include any information that can be used to identify you.

  • First, provide us with as much information as possible by filling out this form (you must enter either a phone number or email for the recipient for us to contact them)
  • When we receive the form, we will email or text you within 24 hours to confirm that the information you provided is accurate
  • You must send your confirmation within 24 hours
  • Within 24 hours after you reply to us, we will send this to the recipient:

“This is a message from the University of Chicago Medicine. Someone who knows you thinks you might be at risk for HIV or STIs. For help getting a free test, call 1-866-747-0074. “

Once we have sent this message, it will be up to the recipient to obtain testing. We will send the message only once, and we will not contact you further. Your information will be permanently deleted from our system and will not be used for any other purpose.

Please note: We cannot tell you if the recipient has received a test, nor can we guarantee that they do so.
